what would you do.

a friend of mine shared this video the other day. i fell in love with it and thought i'd share. if only money wasn't an issue, how much better off would our society, even our world, be?

what would you do to make sure your dreams came true? how hard are you willing to work to get where you want to end up? what are you willing to sacrafice now to gain later on?

these questions are constantly on my mind. we get so wrapped up in what we should be doing, or who society thinks we should be, that we get lost along the way. don't you remember being a kid and being asked what you want to be when you grow up? how do you know that isn't exactly what you should be doing or would be the happiest you could be by being that person?

we live in such a selfish society. we crave to be loved, doted upon and even be envied. i find the ones who have true happiness, the ones that make you jealous because you wish you could have their attitude, are the ones that do not have those desires or needs. they are completely content with their lives. they are happy with who they are and what they do. it may not be the most fabulous job where you make a lot of money, but enough to survive and live a content life. you may not have the most popular friends who only care about the outside version of you, but the ones you know who will share the world with you from a different point of view. the ones who will always be there for you and will laugh with you over the stupid things in life. cry with you when you feel all is lost.

i'm currently in a place in my life where i'm re-evaluating everything, down to the smallest things in my life. what do i really want out of life? where do i want to be in ten years? who do i want to be? who do i want to be in my life?

maybe some of you are feeling the same way, or maybe you've found where you want to be and who you want to be with. or maybe you're still searching, mending a broken heart or pulling yourself up from rock bottom. whatever the case may be, don't lose sight of who you are or who you want to become. the past is only there to teach us lessons from the mistakes we've made, the present is to remember the past and the future is to give us hope that tomorrow will be better than yesterday.

I'm back in school, working on a professional degree so I can spend my working days doing something I like. It is hard and scary and sometimes I just want to go back to my old career. But then people like you post videos like this that remind me that life can be fun.
Thanks for the reminder

Well when I was a kid I wanted to be a "famous singer" but since I can't actually carry a tune I figured out pretty quickly that that was out.

If money weren't as issue I think A LOT would be so differently. Unfortunately, money makes the world go 'round. That doesn't mean that people can't go after their dreams - it just means they might have to work harder to make those dreams come true.

What a great reminder that video is! People really do just go about their lives doing whatever they need to do to make money rather than enjoying the simplicity of the smallest things in life. It's important to do what you love to do. Thanks for posting!

Oh wow. I love this. I'm glad though as I take photos and really thats what I want to do, I don't get any money from it, in fact it costs me a lot but I really do love it, probably more so because its not my job, its something I want to do, so I just do it.

If I won the lottery though, I would rescue a lot of dogs and take photos :)
